COPPACK, MAIR HAFINA (1936 - 2011), author and columnist continued to contribute until a few weeks before her death from cancer. She also wrote weekly the radio column for Y Cymro. Readers of Y Wawr were treated to a regular and rich diet of her diaries. She also contributed to Yr Enfys and the Transactions of the Historical Societies of Denbighshire and Meirionethshire. From 1983 to 1988, she was editor of Y Bedol, the Welsh-language community newspaper of
FOULKES, ANNIE (1877 - 1962), editor of an anthology establishment of The Welsh Outlook. Thomas Jones believed there was a need for an anthology of modern Welsh poetry and suggested that Annie Foulkes should edit it. The anthology appeared in 1918 under the title Telyn y dydd, as one of the volumes of the series ' Cyfres yr Enfys '. REES, THOMAS IFOR (1890 - 1977), HM Ambassador the Mexican Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eduardo Hay, had translated The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám into Spanish and as he himself had translated the work into Welsh he hoped that the coincidence might help to ease the tension between the two countries, as indeed it did when they met at a mutual friend's party - quiet diplomacy at its best!
