JAMES, DAVID EMRYS (Dewi Emrys; 1881 - 1952), minister (Congl.), writer and poet settled down again in 1940-41 with his daughter, Dwynwen, in 'Y Bwthyn', Talgarreg, Cardiganshire, becoming a member of Pisgah Congl. church and preaching occasionally in the neighbouring districts; he remained there for the rest of his life. A charismatic person, around whom many stories gathered, he held Welsh literature and poetry classes here and there under the auspices of the W.E.A. movement for
KYFFIN, RICHARD, dean of Bangor Henry Tudor during the years before Bosworth. The choir of the cathedral was rebuilt during his period of office, and one of the windows (with figures of SS. Dwynwen and Catherine) was donated by him. He held the rectory of Llanddwynwen, and was the founder of the cathedral chantry of S. Catherine near which (in the south transept) he was buried. OWEN, WILLIAM RICHARD (1906 - 1982), pioneer of Welsh broadcasting Bangor on the 11th of December 1933, and had two daughters, Rhiannon and Dwynwen. W. R. Owen was Bangor City Librarian from 1937 to 1941. He was an active member of many local committees, and was the Billeting Officer when the evacuees from Liverpool and Birkenhead came to north Wales during the Second World War.
