JARMAN, ELDRA MARY (1917 - 2000), harpist and author an ordinary house during the preceding generation: when her mother was around ten years old, their itinerant life came to an end, and Eldra's first home was her grandparents' house in Aberystwyth. When she was around two years old, her father began to work as a river keeper for Edward Douglas-Pennant, third baron Penrhyn, and the family moved to a house on the Penrhyn estate at Nant Ffrancon. NICHOLAS, JOHN MORGAN (1895 - 1963), musician ', dedicated to the tenor David Lloyd, with whom he made two records as accompanist, are excellent examples of his work. But he also wrote instrumental pieces, for instance for the cellist Ffrancon Thomas, and some of his works were in the repertoire of the celebrated oboist Léon Goossens. ROGERS, ROLAND (1847 - 1927), musician organist of Bangor cathedral (1871). He graduated Mus. Bac. in 1870 and qualified as Mus. Doc. (Oxon), five years later. By now one of the best-known organists, he was called upon to superintend the settling up of organs in numerous churches and chapels and to give recitals on them at meetings of inauguration.
