WILLIAMS, ELISEUS (Eifion Wyn; 1867 - 1926), poet , 1900?; and Telynegion Maes a Mor, 1906; Caniadau'r Allt, 1927, and O Drum i Draeth, 1929, were posthumously published under the editorship of Harry Edwards of Portmadoc. WILLIAMS, MEIRION (1901 - 1976), musician , during the 1930s, and his lyrical settings of the poetry of Eifion Wyn ('Cwm Pennant', 'Mai'), Caradog Prichard ('Y Llyn'), Crwys ('Gwynfyd'), Elfed ('Pan ddaw'r nos') and George Rees ('O Fab y Dyn'), among others, are notable examples of the Welsh art song. He combined a sensitivity to words with a special gift for writing interesting accompaniments.
WILLIAMS, WILLIAM (Gwilym Peris; 1769 - 1847), poet o Eifion who won the medal on that occasion. In 1813 Gwilym Peris published his poetical works in a book called Awengerdd Peris, which includes all the awdlau mentioned above. Later, he went to live at Llandygài, where he came into close contact with Gutyn Peris.
