EVANS, JOHN (1768 - c. 1812), topographical writer probably the son of Benjamin Evans, clergyman, of Lydney, Gloucestershire. (He is sometimes confused with John Evans, a Bristol schoolmaster who wrote topographical works relating to Bristol and philosophical treatises.)
