EVANS, BERIAH GWYNFE (1848 - 1927), journalist and dramatist Born 12 February 1848, son of Evan Evans (1804 - 1886), Nant-y-glo, Monmouthshire; his mother's maiden name was Mary Valentine. Educated at the Beaufort British school, he became a teacher at Gwynfe and Llangadock, Carmarthenshire, but his aspirations were from the outset towards journalism. EVANS, CADWALADR (1664 - 1745), Pennsylvanian Welsh Quaker Born at Fron-goch in the parish of Llanfor, Meironnydd. He joined the Society of Friends, emigrated to Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, in 1698, and was accepted into the ministry of the Friends. He died in 1745, aged 81. Cadwaladr Evans was great-great-grandfather of Abraham Lincoln.
