THOMAS, EDWARD WILLIAM (1814 - 1892), musician Born 29 January 1814 in London. His father, a native of Llandwrog, Caernarfonshire, was a good musician and could play the violin. In 1820 the family moved to Glynllifon, Caernarfonshire, the seat of lord Newborough, to whom the father became agent. When he was eight E. W. THOMAS, EVAN CAMBRIA (1867 - 1930), doctor and public health pioneer Evan Cambria Thomas was born at Tŷ Coch, Llanarth, Cardiganshire, on 28 March 1867, the last of six children of Captain Evan Thomas (1825-1900), a seaman in the merchant service, and his wife Emma Jones (1824-1871), innkeeper of the Red Lion, Llanarth. THOMAS, EVAN ROBERT (1891 - 1964), joiner and leader of the Welsh in Australia Born 8 January 1891 at Yspyty Ifan, Denbighshire, son of Robert E. Thomas and Jane his wife, but the family moved to Trefriw, Caernarfonshire, and he was educated in Llanrwst county school. He emigrated to Australia c. 1908.
