THOMAS ap RHODRI (c. 1295 - 1363), nobleman in the land of his forbears than his life as an English country gentleman would at first suggest is shown by the unsuccessful claim which he made to the lordship at Llŷn as heir to his uncle Owain Goch. His son was Owain ap Thomas ap Rhodri, or Owain Lawgoch.

THOMAS PENLLYN (bu farw 1623), poet Cardiff MS. 20. He composed a number of cywyddau to members of the Salusbury family of Lleweni and to Dr. John Davies, Mallwyd. Elegies on his death by Richard Phillip and Gruffydd Hafren are found in NLW MS 719B and Cwrtmawr MS 11B.

THOMAS, ALBAN (bu farw 1740?), cleric, poet, and translator bibliographers Alban Thomas is of interest as the author of Cân o Senn i'w hên Feistr Tobacco, 1718, one of the two first works (both of them in ballad form) to issue from the first permanent printing press established in Wales, viz. that of Isaac Carter, Trefhedyn (Adpar), Newcastle Emlyn. 'A.T.,' i.e. Alban Thomas, together with 'J.Ll.,' was responsible for the publication of a 1722 book printed by Carter
