IEUAN (IFAN) DYLYNIWR (fl. 1520-1567), harpist and bard He was, possibly, a native of Aberdaron, Caernarfonshire; references in the course of the bardic controversy between him and Huw ap Richard ap Siôn ap Madog of Bodwrdda, Aberdaron, seem to suggest this. Like most of the bards of his period he visited the larger houses, e.g. Penrhyn in the parish of Llandygái and Raglan in Monmouth, on his bardic itineraries. An elegy upon him was written by
IEUAN FYCHAN ap IEUAN ab ADDA (bu farw c. 1458), poet Chirk (with Nanheudwy), and he also fought in France. He was succeeded at Mostyn c. 1457 or 1458 by his son Howel ap Ieuan, father of Richard ap Howel. Ieuan Fychan was a contemporary of the bards Guto'r Glyn and Maredudd ap Rhys, with the latter of whom he had a bardic controversy. IEUAN GETHIN ap IEUAN ap LLEISION (fl. c. 1450) Baglan, poet and gentleman A descendant of the family of Caradog ap Iestyn ap Gwrgant. According to some genealogists (e.g. Gruffudd Hiraethog in Peniarth MS 178, i (43)) he married the daughter of Tomas ab Ifor Hael. Bards from North and South Wales were entertained at his court at Baglan, and two cywyddau addressed to him remain in manuscript, one by Ieuan Ddu ap Dafydd ab Owain, and the other by Iorwerth Fynglwyd. IEUAN GYFANNEDD (fl. 1450-60), poet Details concerning his life are unknown, but one example of his work has been found in NLW MS 728D (113), this being a cywydd in praise of his patrons Phylip ap Rhys of Cenarth in the parish of St. Harmon, Radnorshire, and his wife Gwenllian, daughter of Owain Glyn Dwr.
IEUAN LLAFAR (fl. c. 1594-1610), poet A native apparently of Glyn Ceiriog, Denbighshire. Nothing is known about him, but a number of cywyddau and englynion composed by him, c. 1594 to 1610, have survived. He wrote poems to various contemporary North Wales gentry, including Owain Holant of Plas Berw, Anglesey, Hwmffrai ap Huw of Gwerclys, Rhobert Wyn of Foelas, Edwart ap Dafydd of Rhiwlas, Edwart ap Morus of Llansilin, Owain Bruwtwn
IEUAN LLWYD ab Y GARGAM (fl. 14th century), poet One of the last of the 'Gogynfeirdd.' No details of his career are known, but an awdl composed by him to Hopcyn ap Tomas of Ynysdawy, Glamorganshire, is preserved in the 'Red Book of Hergest' and some other manuscripts. It is also contained in The Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales, but there the poet's name is given as Iorwerth Llwyd ab y Gargam.
IEUAN LLWYD BRYDYDD (fl. c. 1460-1490), poet some examples of whose work remain in manuscript. These include an elegiac cywydd to Ifan ap Tudur ap Gruffudd Llwyd of Henllan parish, Denbighshire, a cywydd to Hywel Coetmor, and a 'blind man's cywydd.' IEUAN LLWYD SIEFFRAI (fl. c. 1599-1619), poet Born in 1575, son and heir of Sieffrai ab Ieuan Llwyd, Dyffryn Ereithlyn, Eglwys-bach, Denbighshire, of the Lloyd family of Hafod Unnos. On 12 July 1591, at Llandrillo church, Meironnydd, when he was 16 years old and she only 11, he married Margred, daughter and sole heiress of Morus ap Siôn ab Elis of Palau. They had ten daughters and two sons, some born at Palau and others at Dyffryn. The
IEUAN RHAEADR, poet A native apparently of Rhayader, Radnorshire. Some of his work remains in manuscript; this includes three love cywyddau, cywyddau in praise of Siancyn ap Siôn ap Ieuan Fychan and Richard Herbert, and another seeking the freedom of Rhys Fychan of Builth when he was imprisoned at Gloucester.
IEUAN RUDD (fl. 1470), a Glamorgan bard who sang in the second half of the 15th century. Two cywyddau by him survive, the one upon the marriage-feast of Sir Rhys ap Thomas and Sioned (Janet), daughter of Thomas Mathew of Radyr, Glamorganshire, and the other to the 'paderau main crisial' (the crystal paternosters). There is a reference to him in a cywydd which Llywelyn Goch y Dant wrote c. 1470 to invite Hywel ap Dafydd ap Ieuan ap Rhys
