NASH, JOHN
(1752 - 1835), architect
Born at Cardigan. He was apprenticed to Sir
Robert
Taylor and afterwards settled near Carmarthen. He was persuaded by a number of friends to start in business as an architect; this he did, becoming well-known almost at once. He designed the Cardiganshire county gaol at Cardigan, and the west front and the chapterhouse in S. Davids cathedral. He moved to London and became world-famous for his work
