PARRY, EDWARD (1798 - 1854), publisher and antiquary Born in 1798 at Trelawnyd ('Newmarket'), Flintshire, the son of Edward and Mary Parry. At an early age he moved to Chester, settling in business as a bookseller, first at the Exchange, Northgate Street, and afterwards in Bridge Street Row. PARRY, GRIFFITH (1827 - 1901), Calvinistic Methodist minister, and author Born at Caernarvon in December 1827; his mother was sister to Robert Owen (Eryron Gwyllt Walia) and a niece of the famous Calvinistic Methodist preachers Robert Roberts of Clynnog and John Roberts of Llangwm - appropriately enough, Parry was to edit the poems of Robert Owen and the sermons of Robert Roberts. PARRY, HENRY (1766? - 1854), cleric and antiquary Born c. 1766, son of Henry Parry, Brynllech, Llanuwchllyn, Meironnydd. He was educated at Jesus College, Oxford (matriculated 1 June 1786, aged 20; B.A. 1790). He was vicar of Llanasa, Flintshire, for a long period, namely from 1798 until 1854; he also served as rural dean and, on 3 May 1833, became a canon of St Asaph.
