Born at Devynnock 9 April 1852, daughter of Philip Morgan (
family
pedigree in Theophilus Jones, History of the County of Brecknock, 3rd ed., iv, 134-6 - and see the article on Thomas Morgan, 1769 - 1851), who was perpetual curate of Pen-pont (1841-64) and of Battle, near Brecon (1859-64), and afterwards, from 1864 till his death in 1868, rector of Llanhamlach. ' Miss Philip Morgan,' as she was
