(Viscount Tonypandy), (1909 - 1997), Labour politician and Speaker of the House of Commons
He was born on 29 January 1909 at Port Talbot, the son of Zachariah Thomas (1881-1925), a coalminer and native of Carmarthen, and Emma Jane (1881-1972), the daughter of
