OWEN, WILLIAM (Gwilym Meudwy, Gwilym Glan Llwchwr; 1841 - 1902), rhymester and tramp poem Troedigaeth Atheos. Gwilym Meudwy was apprenticed to a carpenter in Trap, near Llandeilo, in 1856 but he returned to his father and the woollen mill after 3 years. His father died in 1865 and his mother in 1877, and Gwilym Meudwy was a tramp for the rest of his life. He spent his summers at the spas in Llanwrtyd and Llandrindod, returning to Brynaman, Llanelli and Swansea over the winter. He
PARRI, HARRI (Harri Bach o Graig-y-gath; 1709? - 1800), strolling poet englynion published in Gwilym Howell's Almanac, 1774, that he disliked Methodists and Dissenters. He is said to have died in dire poverty at Llanfyllin, at the age of 90. He was buried in Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa churchyard 15 November 1800.

PHILIPPS, Sir IVOR (1861 - 1940), soldier, politician and businessman Munitions Supply, he was briefly Acting Director General. Philipps was recalled to the command of the 38th Division in September 1915, and left, accompanied by Gwilym Lloyd George as his aide-de-camp, for France in December. PHYLIP BRYDYDD (fl. 1222), court poet His extant works are an awdl and intercessionary englynion addressed to Rhys Gryg, a chain of englynion and an elegiac awdl to Rhys Ieuanc ap Gruffudd (son of the 'lord' Rhys) (died 1222), and two other interesting poems in which he claims priority over poets of lower degree. PICTON, Sir THOMAS (1758 - 1815), soldier, colonial governor and enslaver composed by John Howell, William Edwards, Thomas Williams (Gwilym Morgannwg), and David Saunders. W. J. Roberts (Gwilym Cowlyd) appointed him recorder of ' Arwest Glan Geirionnydd.' About 1891 he married Gwen, daughter of Owen Jones, Hafodfraith, Penmachno.
