He was Tudur Penllyn ap Ieuan ap Iorwerth Foel, but in one manuscript he is called Tudur Penllyn ap Dafydd ap Ieuan ap Iorwerth Foel. He traced his descent from Meirion Goch, an Edeirnion nobleman who
