another (1864) for a canon for three voices. He moved to Wrexham to serve the publishing firm of
Hughes
and Son, whose music-publishing he supervised down to 1877, while conducting choirs at Wrexham, Broughton, and Bangor Iscoed. But his marriage in 1876 with Sarah Owen of Aberderfyn, Rhosllannerchrugog, led him, in 1878, to set up a press there - where, in 1894, he also started the Rhos Herald
MILLS-ROBERTS, ROBERT HERBERT
(1862 - 1935), surgeon, and association football player
Born 5 August 1862 at Ffestiniog, son of Robert Roberts, Plas-meini, manager of the Oakeley quarries. From the University College at Aberystwyth, he went up to S. Thomas's Hospital and qualified in 1887, becoming F.R.C.S. (Edin.) in 1893. When the South African War broke out, Mills-Roberts, then surgeon to the Llanberis quarry hospital, joined A. W.

MORGAN, MORGAN PARRY
(1876 - 1964), minister of religion (CM) and powerful preacher
. Preaching, however, was his great passion in life. He delivered the Dr. John Williams Memorial Lecture in 1947; the subject of that lecture was ' Preaching '. He was moderator of the General Assembly in 1949. He died 27 December 1964 and was buried in front of the chapel in Blaenannerch. MORRIS, ROBERT DAVID
(1871 - 1948), itinerant bookseller and author

& Son, Wrexham. He and his little car became well known to hundreds of people in the rural areas, and he called regularly at out-of-the-way farms and cottages. He carried on until his death and was one of the last itinerant booksellers in Wales. Though his formal education had been but slight, when he saw the need for popular literature in Welsh he resolved to meet the demand. In the

during his lifetime. He married (1745) Jane, daughter and heiress of Robert

of Llanfugail (J. E. Griffith, Pedigrees, 41); she died 1 May 1750, and Morris remained a widower. A son and a daughter survived him. The (elder) son, ROBERT MORRIS, born 9 March 1746, married Jane Parry, a widow, of the Bulkeley of Brynddu family (J. E. Griffith, op. cit., 33), sold his share of the Llanfugail estate

of Siglan, Llanfair-pwll, and had four daughters. He was knighted in 1918. In the following year the University of Glasgow conferred upon him the degree of LL.D. honoris causa, and he was given the degree of D.Litt. honoris causa of the National University of Ireland in 1927.
