PHILLIPS, MORGAN
(bu farw 1570), Roman Catholic priest
Douai with two other celebrated exiles, Dr.
Owen
Lewis and Dr. William Allen, and helped the latter to establish the famous college which trained Roman Catholic priests for the English mission field. He was an ardent supporter of Mary, Queen of Scots, and wrote the Defence of the Honour of Mary Queen of Scotland which was published at Douai in 1571. He died 18 August 1570.

(1623 - 1691), Puritan preacher; Independent 'apostle of Pembrokeshire'
Assize. Under the 1662 Act of Uniformity he had to leave Llangwm and Freystrop; the Clarendon Code bore heavily upon him, though tradition again comes in with stories of kindness and protection shown him by the

Of Rhyd-yr-Eirin, in the parish of Llansannan, Denbighshire. According to

Williams, Awduron Sir Ddinbych, he was born in 1731. It is said that he was a sexton also. One of the closest friends of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) when the latter was curate of Llanfair Talhaiarn, he also regarded him as his bardic teacher.
