DAFYDD GAM (bu farw 1415), Welsh warrior was to receive forty marks a year (Cal. Close Rolls, 79). Since Henry had been for some years, through his marriage to Mary Bohun, in control of the lordship of Brecknock, the association was probably not new; Dafydd, at any rate, remained a loyal Lancastrian until his death. DAFYDD GORLECH (1410? - 1490?), writer of cywyddau brud (vaticinations) 'Dafydd Gorlech Caermden' according to Peniarth MS 49 (167b). Twenty-five cywyddau are attributed to him in the manuscripts, but eleven of these are attributed to other writers as well. Among the fourteen attributed to him alone there is a cywydd which begins 'Am eryr braich môr a bryn' and contains references to Sir Roger Vaughan. DAFYDD LLWYD (bu farw 1619) HENBLAS,, poet and scholar of the landed family of Henblas (Llangristiolus, Anglesey), who, it is said, graduated from S. Edmund Hall, Oxford. He married Catherine, daughter of Richard Owen of Penmynydd, and about eight children were born to them, three of the sons becoming clergymen. Lewys Dwnn and J. E. DAFYDD LLWYD ap LLYWELYN ap GRUFFUDD (c. 1420 - c. 1500) Mathafarn, poet 1509), the poet's greatest hero.
