WILLIAMS, ROWLAND
(1779 - 1854), cleric
bishop Randolph of Oxford, he went as usher to Friars School, Bangor, in 1803, being licensed also to the curacy of Llandygài. He soon made a deep impression on the district. In 1807 he was appointed vicar of Cilcain, near Mold; in
1809
to Halkyn; in 1819 to Meifod, Montgomeryshire. In 1836 he returned to Flintshire, to Ysgeifiog, and remained there till his death on 28 December 1854. He was buried at

(1868 - 1927), Calvinistic Methodist minister
Born 28 August 1868 at Bryntirion, Gwalchmai, Anglesey, son of the Rev. Hugh Williams, his mother being the daughter of the Rev. John Charles (1784 - 1858) and sister of the Revs. Hugh (1806 - 1839), John (

- 1865), William (1817 - 1849), and David (1823 - 1860) Charles - the two latter being very popular preachers. (Thomas, another brother, died young.) He was educated at Oswestry, Bala
WYNNE, JOHN
(1667 - 1743), bishop of St Asaph and principal of Jesus College, Oxford
Arches and a judge in the archbishop's Prerogative Court, appointments which he held until
1809
. He became a member of the Privy Council in 1789, and one of the lords of the Treasury in 1790 - he had been knighted in 1788. Soughton was inherited by the bishop's daughter, who married Henry Bankes, an ancestor of the late Sir John Eldon Bankes.
