ROBERTS, JOHN
(1767 - 1834), Independent minister and theologian
supported him. He also published Galwad caredigol ar yr Arminiaid; Cyfarwyddiadau ac Anogaethau i Gredinwyr; A Friendly Address to the Arminians; Hanes Bywyd Lewis Rees; and some other books. He died 21 July 1834, and was buried in Llanbryn-mair parish churchyard. He had married (1797) Mary

Born 6 March 1800, eldest son of John and Mary Roberts (née
Breese
), of Llanbryn-mair, where his father John Roberts (1767 - 1834) was Independent minister, 1794-1834. He received his early education at the local school kept by his father, and at Shrewsbury, 1810-12. It is claimed that he was one of the earliest in Wales to master shorthand.
